Cataract Surgical procedures and Limitations of Lasik Laser

Impairment or loss of vision can be caused due to metabolic changes of the crystalline len fibers over time lead for the purpose of development of the cataract. Treatment of cataract through cataract surgical procedures is discussed in the first part this blog and limitation of the lasik laser surgical procedures are discussed in second part of this blog.

Cataract Surgical Procedures

Day care and high volume coupled with minimally invasive make the cataract surgical procedures highly effective in restoring vision of patients suffering from impairment of vision due to cataract.
Furthermore, small incision with quick post-op recovery makes the Phacoemulsification as one of the successful cataract surgical procedures for restoration of vision by removal of natural len.

For restoration of the vision, ophthalmologist or eye surgeon make use of two types of cataract surgical procedures. Phacoemulsification (phaco) and extracapsular cataract extraction are different types of surgical procedures for restoration of vision.
As per recent survey, it was reported that the more 90% cataract surgical procedures are successful in restoration of patients, with extremely low complication rate. Strong glare from lights is one of major symptoms of the cataract. Reduced acuity at low light levels is another symptom of symptom.

Cloudy natural cataract lens can be removed through the cataract surgery procedures and are replaced with intraocular lens for the restoration the lens’ transparency. Natural len of the individual suffering from cataract is removed through surgical procedures, for effective restoration of the vision that was hampered due to opacification.

The implantation of the intraocular lens can be carried by eye surgeons, for restoration of vision. Foldable lenses of 2-3 mm phaco incision are generally implanted or inserted after the Cataract Surgery in Delhi, for restoring the transparency of the len.  Larger extracapsular incision is required for insertion of the non foldable intraocular len after the cataract surgical procedures.  The size of the non foldable lens is about 10-12 mm and often requires stitching for the purpose for ensuring accurate implantation.

Limitation of the Lasik Laser Surgical Procedures

Although lasik laser is associated with high success rate of 92-98% but if carried out by unqualified eye surgeons, the lasik laser surgical procedures are associated with certain limitations. Changes made to the cornea at the lasik laser surgical procedures cannot be reversed. Other limitation of lasik laser surgical procedures is that additional lasik laser surgical procedures can only be performed for further correction of vision. Lasik Laser in Delhi is very technical complex and doctors cut the flap that can affect permanently affects vision.
